Activities at the Knolls of Oxford

Part of the joy of moving to a retirement community is leaving the worries of housework and yard work behind. Having more free time offers residents the opportunity to participate in activities they want to enjoy, so they can Live Life how they want to every day. The activities on the campus of The Knolls of Oxford help to make retirement an exciting and rewarding experience.

Each area of living offers its own distinct activities as well as larger events for the entire campus. The well-rounded calendars include concerts, speakers, fitness, spiritual enrichment, travel, luncheons, education, entertainment, and more.

Our social directors act as your tour guides and plan many exciting off-campus travels as well. Day trips are often available for interested residents. With the planning and transportation taken care of, residents have the freedom to enjoy each day and Live Life the way they want!

Spiritual Care

Maple Knoll Communities, Inc. is a Spiritual Organization. Uplifting our spirits, beliefs and values, harmony and balance, morals, a concept of God, our changes and hopes through life’s journey, meaning, and purpose; all of these speak of spirituality in broad sweeping terms. MKC encourages elders and employees to share their spiritual experiences and hopes. Because we are non-denominational, we expect our employees to refrain from “converting” others to their particular religious beliefs and for everyone to be respectful of the many diverse faiths represented throughout Maple Knoll Communities.

The Spiritual Care and Ethics department provide several important services to our Maple Knoll family:

Pastoral Care

This program includes visits to Long-term Care Nursing Residents, Sacred Rites and Clinical Assessments, Counseling and Spiritual Direction, Hospital Visits, Christian Wholeness Ministry, End of Life Bereavement Care, the “Praying Hearts” prayer chain, Spiritual Care Volunteer Programs like the Chaplain Aide Visitors and Compassionate Companions.

Worship

Services included in this area are Health Care Pavilion Worship, Campus-Wide Christian Worship, Inter-Faith Special Services, and Memorial and Remembrance Rituals.

Education

These educational opportunities include Learning Seminars, Local Church-sponsored Bible Studies, Ethical Consultations and Learning Workshops, and Ministerial Student Internships.
